报告题目:Systems Metabolic Engineering and AI-Assisted Biotechnology
报告摘要:The growing demand for sustainable production of chemicals, materials, fuels, foods, and pharmaceuticals is accelerating the transition from conventional petrochemical manufacturing toward biological manufacturing. Systems metabolic engineering, which integrates metabolic engineering with systems biology, synthetic biology, and evolutionary engineering, provides a powerful framework for developing microbial cell factories capable of producing diverse molecules with high efficiency. Over the past decades, this approach has enabled the production of numerous industrial chemicals and materials, including amino acids, organic acids, diamines, diols, polymers, natural products, and pharmaceuticals, with several processes reaching industrially relevant performance. In this lecture, I will present recent advances in systems metabolic engineering for developing high-performance microbial strains and bioprocesses. I will also discuss AI-assisted studies of drug–drug interactions in the context of future opportunities in biotechnology.
